Wednesday, our first full day of camp, turned out to be an amazing day. Under a sunny ski, with a nice breeze, campers enjoyed a day of sports and lakefront activities. The outdoor learning classes were off to a great start with the sound of learning heard throughout the grounds.
Section C were already on the first trip of the season! The boys enjoyed bowling, ice skating and a delicious pizza-shop lunch. They returned to camp ready for a hearty dinner of meatballs and spaghetti.
Thanks to the many parents that reached out regarding our online photo albums. As we continue to upload daily pictures, there seems to be an overload of views, and our programmer is at it. It did open for some and not for others. We are certainly on top of it, and are in the process of expanding our capacity so that it opens for everyone at all times iy”h.
We greatly appreciate the joint effort in giving your son the true Montreal-overnight-camping-experience, away from home. BH we have lots of sweet cereal, challah, cake, potato kugel, and the rest; to provide all our campers and staff with. Let’s let the boys feel like they are away! Please do not make any erev shabbos deliveries or drop offs. We greatly appreciate the cooperation of all parents NOT to come by and drop off packages. The gate will remain locked and packages thrown over will not be delivered! Let’s do this together! Thank you so much.
Have a wonderful day.
Hats off to a most amazing staff for making the adjustment smooth and enjoyable for our campers. Campers have quickly become comfortable in our new beautiful grounds and are enjoying a beautiful sunny day outdoors. After a delicious French toast breakfast, they were introduced to their learning directors, who explained how classes will work – and announced the classes and teachers. Each class was assigned to a designated location, without too much disturbance. We wish all the devoted learning teachers lots of Hatzlacha in this amazing shlichus of teaching our children.
Activities took off to a great start. Lakefront, sports and lots of cheering is being enjoyed by all!
Section C is already off to the first trip of the season! Exciting! Stay tuned for details.
The buses have arrived BH! Smiling, curious faces came off the bus, excited to explore the beautiful new grounds of CGI. They were greeted by an enthusiastic staff – dancing around the buses, excited to begin their Shlichus with our precious campers. A lavish buffet lunch was set up in the dining room for all to enjoy! Heading to the shul for the special welcome speech, to meet their counselors and bunkmates as well as get a quick tour and map of our wonderful new home! A great season has begun!
Staff bid their farewells at their very own banquet last night. Memories were shared, gammon were sung, and honors were mentioned; with a special menu prepared for them by our kitchen staff.
After packing up, campers and staff enjoyed the grand banquet this Afternoon with a special shnitzel lunch. All honors were mentioned including Mizhnayos Bal Peh, Kluger, sports and bunk competition.
Sadly our buses are starting to roll out of camp. Bus arrival reminders:
Montreal buses: Yeshiva 6405 Westbury, Monday, August 26 – 7 pm
NY buses: President and Kingston, Tuesday, August 27- 8 am
All parents (of campers) were sent several reminder emails. If you did not receive an email, your son is not reserved for any of these buses. If we are aware of any significant time changes, we will do our best to update parents by email.
The last Shabbos of the summer was spectacular! Lots of singing, farbrenging, mishnayos bal peh, seder Niggunim and more. Motzei Shabbos, every section in camp was treated to a special late night. Section A, had a pizza late night while the others enjoyed bon fires around camp.
All Championship campers are taking place today, both with sports and Kluger (learning classes). Teams are anxiously awaiting the winners of each league.
Another beautiful, sunny day, gives our campers a chance to enjoy our magnificent lake front for the last time this season.
At this point, we will not be distributing emails to campers or staff, or taking online tips or canteen deposits. The season is sadly coming to an end!
