After much anticipation and preparation, the trip to the Rebbe was an extraordinary experience for all. The entire camp walked through the Rebbe’s Ohel, with Panim, and then headed to 770 for Mincha and a brief rally. Campers and staff returned to camp inspired with an increased feeling of connection. It was an uplifting trip for all.

Rabbi Meir Rodal, Mashpiah in Oholei Torah and Chovivei Torah, farbrenged with every section of camp following the special visit to the Rebbe. Campers, Section C Bochurim, and then staff were each addressed accordingly, climaxing an already moving day.

The one bus of Section C boys that did not make it (due to bus issues) are off this morning for their special trip to the Rebbe. They left bright and early considering traffic etc.

CGI is honored to welcome Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum to share inspiration with campers and staff alike throughout Shabbos. Looking forward to another amazing Shabbos here in the Rebbe’s camp!

Another amazing day of sports and activities was enjoyed by campers of all sections BH.  Be sure to view the pictures to see your son in action!

Last night, following a delicious schnitzel dinner, campers were treated to another in house entertainer. The mentalist had everyone at the edge of his seat, trying to figure out just “how did he do it”!

Section C had a glamorous event, prepared for them by their amazing staff. A barbecue was royally displayed on one of our basketball courts, and the campers were treated to a lavish menu, with an incredible program.

After a week of Hachonas, the entire CGI family is heading to the Rebbe in honor of Chof Av. The stops will include both 770 and the Ohel, with a fresh pizza lunch midway. Wonderful hachlotas were taken in honor of this auspicious day, which will be shared with the Rebbe iyh.

The hardworking staff were treated to an incredible, lavish, appreciation event. The menu of baguettes, pastrami, schnitzel, corn beef and more- were royally displayed by the head staff. Staff were shown the appreciation they well deserved – with an evening enjoyed by all. Each staff member was gifted with a sleek CGI wallet- to top off the evening.

After a major been hunt two nights ago, campers from grades 4,5,6 were given a chance to bid at the grand auction last night, acquiring great prizes for their bunks.

Mazel tov to Isaac Mintz from Redondo Beach, California upon his Hanochas Tefillin celebrated here in camp today with his friends and parents. Lots of Nachas to the Mintz family.

Grades 5 and 6 returned from their amazing trips to water rafting and paintball shooting. They all returned in great spirits!

The night life is quite thrilling here, with several  bunks being treated to a quick runaway, great hunts and exciting night activities.

Last night, a lively dance night was enjoyed in the grand shul following an amazing day bh.

Today grades 4 and section C are off on their trips.

Mazel Tov to Zalman Bernstein from Toronto, on his Bar Mitzvah and Aizik Gurevitz from Morgantown, WV on his Hanochas Tefillin celebrated here in camp with their parenst and friends. Lots of Nachas to both families.

Grade trips have begun once again. This is the special opportunity for campers from the same grade to bond in a special outing for that grade alone. Today campers in grade 6 (better known as section B+) are off for a trip to paintball shooting. Grade 5 (section B) have gone on a rafting trip. Both groups will enjoy a picnic lunch before enjoying the activities on site.

Calling activity begins today, with campers from grade 4 calling home. Campers will try both cell phones on file iyh.

Section C had an amazing first trip of the season to “Tresscape Rope Course”. Everyone gave it his best, climbing and balancing along the extreme obstacle courses.  Campers were treated to fresh chocolate danishes before boarding the buses to return to camp and join everyone for a delicious meatball/spaghetti dinner here in camp!

Thursday night, the staff were inspired by a Farbrengen with Rabbi Folly Dubov from Manchester England.  Thank you Rabbi Dubov for making the trip up to CGI!

A beautiful shabbos was enjoyed by all sections in camp, as hachanos are underway for Chof Av. Every camp is now well aware of the special day approaching and making the appropriate hachlotas.

Motzei Shabbos, section B+ (grade 6) and section C (grade 7) had sports draft in their respective shuls. The rooms were transferred into professional sports arenas as each section was treated to a grand setting for intense leagues, including, refreshments, backdrops and lots of spirit.

Monday, calling days will begin for second session,  with each section given time to call home during activities.  With the addition of more phones this summer, the calling line should not be too long iy”h.  Calls will be coming from an “845” number iyh.

 

Campers settled beautifully in their new bunks and learning classes. Second session took off at full speed with a great day of sports, learning class and a great night activity following a delicious hot dog and French fry dinner.

Today Section C are already off on a trip!

Both sections of camp enjoyed a heartfelt banquet. Awards were given, camp songs sung, and great supper served; as we bid farewell to our departing campers.

Buses are pulling out this morning as we await the new campers, to begin another amazing session here in the Rebbe’s camp.

Buses to Crown Heights left a few minutes early and keep hitting traffic. The updated ETA is scheduled to arrive at 2:00 pm.

Upstate bus is scheduled to arrive to Monticello at 12:00 pm iyh.

The new bunk and class lists will be sent to all parents by email tomorrow iyh.

After a long bus ride, campers had an absolute blast in six flags amusement / water park. Everyone is being treated to a late start this morning after a late return to camp.

We sadly prepare to say good-bye to our first month campers, leaving tomorrow. After packing, leagues and Kluger finals, we look forward to a mini banquet this evening.

The fast ended with a fresh doughnut, lazagna, bagels cream cheese, tuna, orange juice and more. Today after Chatzos, the entire camp is off on a very special trip! The excitement is in the air! Here at CGI we really wanted to squeeze in a special trip before sending our first month campers home, after the nine days were over! Looking forward to a very special today iyh.
