Another action-packed day here in CGI!

The hardworking waiters were given a well-deserved break, with a trip to Tremblant, followed by a special barbecue – prepared for them by their very own counselor.

The Shabbos Competition winners were rewarded with tubing rides – on our glorious lake throughout the day!

Campers grabbed their sleeping bags and headed up the hill to our very-own-inhouse-overnight-campsite. Under a clear, bright ski, they enjoyed crispy hot dogs and potatoes and roasted marshmallows. After helping create a huge fire, everyone enjoyed sitting around the fire with live music, as great songs and stories were shared. An extra snack was distributed before they headed to their sleeping bag to enjoy a great night’s sleep under the clear sky!

Section C bochurim, were in their own universe, preparing for the climax of their bunk war- with the grand sing. Every camper dressed in his team’s costume – headed to the decorated Zal. The skits, comedy, songs and great spirit; made for a truly memorable event.

After a decent night’s sleep, the section C boys headed out this morning for their weekly trip. Details to follow.

Section C bunk war is here! The three teams are being led by generals from their section. Songs, plays, and all preparations are done by the boys, with the help of a staff member as adviser. The boys are acting, writing songs, drawing, playing music, learning mishnayos bal peh,  and doing it all! The spirit and dedication are incredible. Preparations are underway for the best grand sing ever, being held tonight!

Best campers in each learning class in grade 6 were rewarded with an awesome-tube-ride on our marvelous lake.

Grade 5 boys had their very own grade trip yesterday. The large group of boys was divided into three groups, alternating between mini golf, Walmart and Tyroparc (rope course), in St. Agathe. The boys returned to camp – all smiles – happy to join the camp for supper followed by a grand bean hunt.

 

The hardworking staff of B+ prepared special chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon and chocolate flavoured rogulach as an incentive for going to the Mikvah! The project was met with great enthusiasm by all the campers!

Grade trips have begun! Section A headed to Laval’s Dark Zone and enjoyed many rounds of fierce lazer tag. Grade 6 section B+ were split in half while enjoying intense white water rapids, a hike in the woods and an overall fun time. They were greeted on the buses with warm tradition soups- a popular item here in CGI!

Grade 5 enjoyed a comical mock wedding in camp including a full chupa, dancing and a festive meal!

After an incredible day for all sections, during Supper, as a celebration for the return of music; the entire camp broke out in a spontaneous dance with music blasting over the speakers. (see picture album). They then headed to a special judgement night- night activity, bringing some of their favorite staff members to justice.

Mazel Tov to Yasef Wolvovsky from Santa Rosa California,  and Ahron Perlstein from Cederhurst NY, upon their bar mitzvahs, celebrated here in camp with their fathers, and friends. Lots of Nachas to both families.

After chatzos activities were arranged for campers that were not fasting including sports and bunk skits. Campers prepared and rehearsed skits throughout the day, which were performed for the rest of camp after Mincha.

The kitchen staff outdid themselves again, with an amazing break-fast meal of onion soup, Lazagna, corn on the cob and salad and of course fresh danishes delivered from Montreal.

Laundry and trips are back to regular schedule bh! Details to follow.

Once again campers greeted shabbos after being treated to warm-homemade-jumbo-chocolate-chip-cookies and warm potato kugel.

Throughout shabbos the spirit was great! As per directives for when Tisha B’av is a “nidcheh”, the entire shabbos had an additional Simcha- flavor added. The Seudos were quite lively and meaningful; as the head counsellor shared inspiring words throughout. Lots of niggunim related to the imminent-geulah were sung with great feeling.

The kitchen staff outdid themselves with an amazing pre-fast shalosh seudos including shnitzel, kugel, chicken salad, challah rolls and more. Wishing all an easy fast!

After a full day of non stop activity – the basketball court was set up with bleachers full of excited campers in anticipation of  another in house entertainer. The fascinating tricks done with fire were quite risky and entertaining. Eventually a unicycle was added to the show – with camp volunteers causing blasting cheering from the audience. The light rain held out so that all could enjoy the show till the end.

Grade 5’s section B were called back down to the section C dining room after preparing for bed. A lively and exciting Ice cream party was enjoyed by all, with a variety of flavors, syrups and sprinkle toppings. A unique program followed,  before campers headed to bed.

Mazel tov to Eli Rubinstein from Crown Heights, upon his Bar mitzvah and to Yaakov Baitelman from LA,  upon his Hanochas Tefillin, celebrated here in camp, with their parents and friends.

The hard working staff was treated to another evening of appreciation. The pizza, pasta, nacho menu was professionally prepared for them by the head staff. An amazing evening of achdus was enjoyed by all.

Moshiach Now!

While the buses are parked for the nine days, campers are really enjoying all the in house excitement. Of course, fierce competition of learning class kluger and sports leagues are of top priority. To add to the excitement, there are non stop additions joining us in camp. Yesterday’s carnival day took things over the top. The campers took advantage of the booths, jumping slides, obstacle course, steep slide jump, Euro-bunjy, carnival booths,  and more. Today there will a special shechita course – being led by our very own staff that are qualified shochtim. In addtion, a special in house entertainer will be joining us tonight.

Section C had a special gourmet breakfast prepared for them by their staff, including yogurts and granola, omelettes, lox and cream cheese, smoothies and more.  The devoted staff will be having their very own appreciation event this evening. Details to follow.

Campers have really been enjoying our camp grounds during the nine days with lots of in house excitement and sports. Section C bochurim got to share some amazing hidden talents with the very special, talent night, last night. The cheering and  laughing could be heard throughout camp! Thanks to the amazing staff for another great event!

Several kloda-production trucks pulled into camp – transporting great activities for campers of all ages. The inflatable slides, games, trampolines and more, are being erected while campers are in learning class. All bunks will have the opportunity to enjoy the inflatable games, carnival booths, Euro Bunjy and more, throughout the day.

Sports leagues have taken off to a great start! All teams are giving it their best and working together towards a great win!

In honor of the nine days, a virtual-Beis-Hamikdash activity has come to camp. Between Monday and Tuesday all bunks will have the incredible opportunity to experience a true- to-life walk through the Beis Hamikdash – by wearing the special virtual glasses.

Last night, after two days of building, creating, painting, and expressing incredible talent, the staff put on the annual staff-outdoor-play! Campers of all sections in camp, sat across the kickball field enjoying every minute of the two-hour performance. The story of a young Jewish boy who held onto his Yiddishkeit despite being raised in a non-Jewish palace and having his Yiddishkeit tested, held strong –  until he won the throne of the king.
