Although campers seemed to think they “knew it the whole time”, the excitement and surprise is felt in the air. Everyone was lined up in white shirts anticipating a special visitor to camp, when they were greeted by BOGWAR! Campers excitedly headed to  the shul for the division of teams and presentation of generals.

Following the theme of Dirah B’tachtonim, the age old debate of “do ordinary days serve special days or do special days serve the ordinary” will be addressed.

Team of Sheish Shonim – Headed By: General Mendy Hirsch, LT Sholom Francis, LT Shmuli Cunin, Captain Levi Ladaiov – Focuses on the Dira Betachtonim, bringing purpose into the ordinary and mundane.

Team of Shemita – Headed By: General Shloimy Slavin, LT Kasriel Trourig, LT Yossi Hirsch, Captain Levi Feldman – Will argue that this cannot be done without having the time to focus, and reconnect with Hashem. We need that break – be it in Davening or learning – to remind ourselves of our mission and reset everything based on the larger picture.

Team of Hakhel – Headed by General Mendel Mahatuf, LT Mendel Deitsch, LT Mendel Minkowitz, Captain Dovid Deitsch – Will focus on using the individual strengths and talents of each particular person for one goal creating a sense of unity and wholesomeness.

We wish all three teams tons of Hatzlacha and looking forward to an exciting, entertaining, and educational bog war iyh.

Motzei Shabbos the section C boys had a late night gaga game followed by a pizza Melave Malka, and a late night swim in our fabulous, heated, indoor pool.

Many of the Section C bochurim learned the entire third perek of Tanya bal peh (Shaar Hayichud) and will be rewarded accordingly.

Throughout the fast day, sports continued for the many boys who were not fasting and those that chose to join. The fast day ended with a special lazagna dinner along with delicious onion soup, and fresh doughnuts for all!

Last night, our hard working staff were treated to an incredible Shnitzel event, prepared for them by the head staff. With an incredible menu, great atmosphere, and amazing program, a great time was enjoyed by all!

On Erev Shabbos our lucky, hardworking winners of last week’s Shabbos competition were rewarded with a Go-Karting trip. The traditional Friday staff shifts to La Minerve has resumed!

Bedside inspection proved that our campers are great cleaners, as all the bunks sparkled in preparation for shabbos! The Shabbos davenings had a special chayos throughout Shabbos as well as all the Seudos. Shabbos afternoon campers had learning classes, Mishnayos bal Peh and special activities. Grades 3-5 played board games and grade 6 had an engaging Farbrengen with Rabbi S. B. Cohen as part of the Bachuchik Mivtzah, and a highly sought out Q&A session.

Shmaryonkee had the whole camp rolling from laughter, followed by a special maariv, as the Fierce Shabbos Competiton was coming to its end.

CGI Congratulates bunk Gimmel, Yud Beis and Yud Ches for their hard work throughout Shabbos – as the shabbos competition winners. They will be rewarded later this week iyh.

As a pre- fast, section C (and bar mitzvah boys in grade 6) and staff were treated to a delicious pizza, pasta, fries and salad dinner.

Wishing everyone an easy fast!

Mazel tov to Moshe Minkowicz from Crown Heights, upon his Bar Mitzvah celebrated here in camp with his family and friends!

Thursday was a day to remember!

Campers arose early to capitalise on a full day trip to Canada’s Capital-Ottawa.

On very comfortable coach buses each grade set out for their own itinerary designed for its age group.
Section A, watched the Water Locks, then let out some energy at Fun Haven (arcades) and visited parliament hill.

Section B, visited the Governor Generals house, walked from there to the Canadian Mint and parliament hill and finished the day at Fun Haven.

Section B+, began the day by learning all about the history of Canada’s wars in the Canadian War Museum. From there they went to play arcades at Fun Haven and ended off the day with a massive protest and flash mob in front of parliament hill. They danced in sync and marched all across the area in pride and in unison.

Upon return, after eating dinner, section A went for a swim in our pool, followed by Section B+.
Sections B and B+ both hosted Mivtza events for all dedicated campers who’ve successfully participated in the program.

In the meantime, Section C enjoyed their amazing weekly trip-alternating between paint ball shooting and rope course. They enjoyed a picnic lunch at the trip and were treated to a shopping stop at the well known IGA supermarket.

The entire section had a grand barbecue last night followed by late night sports. It was a long fun filled day!

All sections were treated to a bit more sleep last night and looking forward to another amazing Shabbos in the Rebbe’s camp.

Good Shabbos

In honor of Yud Beis Tammuz the entire camp enjoyed an “escape from Russia game”. The two best daveners in section C were zoche to learn from a kuntres given by the Rebbe. Camp continued the special spirit of Farbrengens and Hiskashrus with Connection Points. The entire camp gathered in the Shul for an hour with the Rebbe. Together they heard and saw the Rebbe speak about this special day’s significance, and what Mesiras Nefesh may mean today.

Our camp is made from the best staff on earth! Today we expressed our gratitude to our front line heroes with a walking tour of Mont Tremblant, flash mobs (insane Mivtzoim!!!), mountain sliding and a deluxe brunch styled picnic at Rabbi Motchkin’s chabad house.
The staff had the opportunity to relax, renew and revitalise their energies for continued success in their holy work here in camp.

The day concluded with a very engaging night activity. Itzik (our dearest NAD) led the camp in learning some lit dance moves in anticipation for some heavy dancing on tomorrows trip to O-T-T-A-W-A!!!! Section C is off on their own trips today. Details to follow.

After an incredible Shabbos we were happy to greet family and friends for our first visiting day. CGI thanks all who visited from near and far. There was lots of activity all day for those without visitors, including swimming, sports, boating and lakefront activity.

Last night, after a delicious burger dinner, campers enjoyed another amazing in house entertainer. The hypnotist was quite entreating and the Shul roared with laughter as campers and staff enjoyed the entertainment.

Today, Monday, campers are thrilled to enjoy a day of sports – under a beautiful sunny sky.

All sections piled into the shul for the second in house entertainment of the season! World renowned  Mentalist Ilan Smooth made the long trip to Canada-and had the campers at the edge of their seats, trying to figure out “how did he know that?”. A great evening was enjoyed by all!

Section C bochurim were treated to a special Mivtzah event- prepared beautifully  by their devoted staff. The bochurim enjoyed the late night event of Banquettes and cold cuts with all the trimmings! A great way to encourage positive “hochlotas” on a daily bases.

The entire staff celebrated the birthday of Rabbi Shalom Ber Cohen with  a huge farbrengen in his honor. Mazel Tov Rabbi Cohen!

Shabbos is always special in camp! Looking forward to a lively, and inspiring shabbos iy”h.

Good Shabbos!

Section C was divided in half between a challenging Rope course and paintball shooting. The grade 7 bochurim will alternate next week with the same two outings iyh.     The entire section returned to camp to enjoy their very own special barbecue.

Sports had taken off to a great start!  All sections had their sports drafts and all leagues are not intensely involved in the various sport activities they are assigned.

The Hatomim events have also kicked off really well-and the boys are thoroughly involved in keeping up with their missions.

We look forward to greeting parents and visitors on this upcoming visiting day, Sunday, July 10. Reminder: visiting hours are 2:00 pm- 6:00 pm.

Grades 3 and 4 returned to camp all excited about their amazing trip! The boys enjoyed the trampolines and climbing the indoor park had to offer.

Last night sections B and B+ (grades 5 &) each had a special event with the launch of their new Mivtzah. The boys are enthusiastic about keeping up with all the hachlotos included in this project.

Today grades 6 and section C are heading out on their very own grade trips.

Grade 5 returned after an incredible grade trip. The boys enjoyed bowling, and lazer tag in Laval Quebec. They returned late to enjoy our delicious Shawarma Dinner along with all the trimmings.
